Chairman and Founder of Odoziani-Ezinne support group for ifeanyi Okowa splashes scholarship on 50 undergraduate in delta state.

Fifty tertiary institution students from Onicha-Ukwuani in Ndokwa West Local Government area have benefited from the scholarship scheme of the Chairman and Founder of Odoziani-Ezinne support group for Okowa,Sir Moday Onyeme.Each of the students received a cheque of N100,000 to support his or her education from the foundation.

In his remarks at the occasion,Sir monday onyeme who is also the Chairman,State Board of Internal Revenue said the gesture was in furtherance of the SMART agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa,adding that education is a key endowment that brings prosperity to all.
He advised the students to study hard to justify their inclusion in the scholarship
scheme and to equip themselves with knowledge that will see them to success in their endeavours.

The annual event which had thirty awardees in 2016 has increased to 50 students this year.Sir Onyeme said education is a critical aspect of the SMART agenda,maintaining that as a servant of this administration,he will continue to do everything possible to support education and promised that with the help of God,the awardees will increase next year.The member representing Delta South on the Board,Dr. Pere Barry Gbe said he was at the event to lend support to a worthy cause and to draw from the experience.

The Secretary to the Ndokwa West Local Government,Mr.Kingsley Egugbo
who was also in attendance said Sir.Onyeme is a blessing to the people having built school classrooms,library and donated chairs and tables to the people.One of the awardees who took the overall first position at the written test got an addition one hundred thousand naira.
Nwakaego Aniogbe,an awardee,said the money will help her pay her fees and accommodation.

The Coordinator General,Odoziani Support Group for Okowa,Honourable Orji Ossai said qualification for the scholarship was on merit as they were over one hundred and twenty students that sat for the written test from various
institutions and the best fifty were selected for the scholarship awards.The Woman Leader of Odoziani-Ezinne
Support Group for Okowa,Okolie Clementina said Sir Onyeme’s benevolence has helped parents of the community not to wait for proceeds from cassava or plantain sales before sending
children to school.
